Fantasy of Flight Museum

2012-03-28      In Polk City, Florida, there is the Fantasy of Flight museum.

In the white hangar building are vintage aircraft under restoration. Like this Avenger.

The main (brown) building is is home to a huge collection of vintage aircraft. A large number of mint WWII aircraft like these:

A few planes are actually flown. Such as this PT-17, which you can take for a ride.

So its handy that they have their own packed-grass runway.

A number of cockpits, such as this one, give everyone a chance to be a jet-jockey for awhile….or pretend anyway.

For some very realistic fun, you can crawl through a WWII bomber and check out each position.

The sights & sounds recreate scenes from WWII.

For Navy guys there’s a recreation of a deck on the USS Yorktown.

We finish the day with a STOL flight demonstration by famous stunt pilot and museum owner Kermit Weeks.

( Kermit Weeks, the one with the microphone)
