Harley trip to Americade 2016

2016-06-05 Our biggest Harley trip this year was to Lake George, NY for the 2016 edition of Americade. Its one if the biggest motorcycle rallys on the East coast.
This album includes images from our stopover in Stowe, VT as well as the Group Tour we took to the Saltsman’s Hotel in Fort Plain, NY.
Also some images from our scenic drive up Prospect Mountain at Lake George.

Capt. Cousins 100th Birthday

2016-05-21 My Uncle Lorne, also known as Capt. Cousins, celebrated his 100th Birthday this week. He was Captain of the MV Abegweit (Abby) for many years and I foundly remember sailing in that majestic ship, that to a young traveller, seemed like a Cruise liner.

SXM 2016

2016-04-09 This year’s trip to St. Martin started out with our usual stopover in Toronto. However, this time we took advantage of the new Pearson Express train to get a fast and cheap ride into the city.
As usual the St. Martin days were sunny and the night were great too. Here is the album YYZ-SXM-2016.

Winter 2015-2016

2016-02-07 The Winter of 2015-2016 was very mild compared to last year. While it was still cold, the huge piles of snow did not happen this time. So these images from Jan and Feb 2016 are less about the snow drifts and more about enjoying the clean clear air of Winter. A walk around Victoria park in Charlottetown, or out to the North Shore is popular all year round.

Victorian Christmas 2015

2015-12-05 While the Winter of 2015-2016 was slow to start, the City of Charlottetown tried to get us in the Christmas mood with an event called the Victorian Christmas Market.

Last Ride 2015

2015-11-07 Most years my last Harley Ride of the season occurs in mid-November. The 2015 Last Ride was no exception, but this year I was riding my new 2015 HD Ultra. So extra shots were taken on this sunny and crisp Fall day at Tracadie Bay, PEI.

HOG-toberfest

2015-10-03 A special Fall ride this year had HOG members from PEI, NB and NS join together for a scenic event called “HOG-toberfest”. We met up at the Harley Dealer in Moncton (Toys-for-Big-Boys), at noon for a BBQ. Then some scenic rides around the Fundy area. I took a separate stop at Hillsborough to see the Train and aircraft museum. It’s about half-way from Moncton to Hopewell Cape.
We all stayed at the Hopewell Rocks Motel which is right next to the entrance of Hopewell Cape park.
That night about 40 HOG members enjoyed a full dinner at the Broadleaf Ranch.
The next morning we toured the Hopewell Rocks at low tide before heading home again.
