2018-09-02 The 2018 Mudrooters event was again held at the Springton, PEI quarry. It was also another wild and dirty day thanks to PEI Red Dirt. Would have been nice for the water truck to douse the track before the first set. Still lots of Loud, Wild and Dirty fun for all with proceeds to QEH so you can’t complain about that.

Air Show Atlantic 2018

2018-08-25 ACIAS-2018 this year’s Airshow, was held in Slemon Park (Summerside), PEI again. The Air Show moves around various locations in the Maritimes. Last year it was at RCAF Greenwood.
Air Show Atlantic 2018 ran from Aug 23rd to 26th including the 2 prep days and 2 days of full shows. The CF-18 Demo team and the Snowbirds are a main stay with many other flying and static aircraft. My Flickr Album for Show Atlantic 2018 has some of the images I took over the 3 days I was there.

Mavic-Air Images

2018-06-27 I’ve wanted to try flying a “Drone” for Photography and the shear fun of it.
Well the DJI Mavic Air gives me both. It has a 12MP camera with RAW output, and will do 4K Video as well as Full HD from 24fps to 120fps (slow-mo).
So here are some photos taken with my Mavic Air in a Flickr Album that I will update as fly in new areas.

Cruise 2018 – Southern Caribbean

2018-03-13 Our first Sea Cruise was on the Royal Princess out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
A 10 day cruise with 6 Island stops in the Southern Caribbean. However, our first stop, Eluthera/Princess Cays was rained out so we had to sail by in the storm.
The first stop then became St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
Click on the link above to see photos from our visit there. We had a great open-bus tour followed by a ride up the Gondola for an amazing view of the port city as we enjoyed our lunch.

Our second stop was the Island of Martinique the next morning. We did a guided tour of Fort Louis then a walk around town.

The third Island stop was Grenada early the next morning. Another bus tour of two Forts, followed by a visit to a Hotel where we could use the pool and beach. A great way to relax and enjoy the day.

Each evening we sailed away into beautiful sunsets that we watched from the balcony of our stateroom. So on day 7, we arrived at Bonaire. Some of these Islands are so off the normal tourist track that a visit by Cruise ship was the only likely way to visit. This small island has the clearest water we’ve ever seen. We had a short tour of the central part of the Island on a large electric-cart that could hold 9-10 people.

On day 8 we arrived at the final Island stop in Aruba. We had been here many years ago, and it was interesting to see what changed (little), but more what was the same.
This time we were on a regular tour bus. We stopped at the Ayo Rock Formation, the Natural Bridge and the California Lighthouse on the North side. Then we drove along the shoreline past all the mega Hotels and the beach areas.

October Gold 2017 Workshop

2017-10-13 This is about the Photography Workshop called “October Gold”.
It was amazing 3-day event held at the Baker Creek Resort near Lake Louise.
Up before dawn every day and out after dusk as well.

Kamloops-Kelowna-Calgary

2017-10-12 We flew to Alberta for a Photography Workshop called “October Gold”.(see next post about that).
Before the workshop we drove around Canmore AB, and after the workshop we drove around central BC. Visiting Kamloops, Kelowna and Revelstoke where the weather cooperated right up to the drive back to Calgary.
My photos are in two albums, this one is called “Kamloops-Kelowna-Calgary” which shows images taken before and after the workshop, covering the locations just mentioned.

Mudrooters_2017-09-03

2017-09-03 With a name like “Mudrooters” you’d think there would be a lot of Mud flying around. Nope, but there was plenty of good old PEI red dirt in the air.

2017-08-26 This year the Atlantic Canada International Air Show was held at RCAF Greenwood, NS.

Canada150_MC_Trip-Part4

2017-07-02(2) Part-3 was about our visit to Niagara Falls. After a great lunch in the air-conditioned Parks restaurant “Elements”, we were ready to head out on the road again.
Canada150_MC_Trip-Part4 will cover the ride through NY, NH, VT, ME, NB and back home.

A short drive to the International bridge and a brief wait for US Customs. Then it was Interstate all the way to Liverpool, NY (Syracruse). We were lucky that traffic was mostly going the other direction.
The BW Liverpool is hidden behind an overpass, but quiet and beautiful. The next day it was back on the Interstate until just before Manchester, NH for another beautiful BW Hotel.
From Manchester, NH we again took good advantage of the Interstates to make tracks for home.
An overnight at BW St.John, NB and clear blue skies for our ride home to PEI.

MC Trip to Niagara Falls

2017-07-02 While we spent most days just riding the roads on our Harley, we did take some time for a couple of tourist stops. Since we were driving from Burlington-ON to New York state, we just had to visit to Niagara Falls on the way.
