Setting Day 2012

2012-05-01  ‘Setting Day’ is the first day of Lobster season on PEI, when the traps are set. It usually means a mad dash out of the harbours to the fishing grounds at sunrise. This year it happened on May-1st at 6am. To prepare for this early-morning shoot, I scouted the area in daytime.

Setting Day EarlyJust before 6am the boats roar out of the harbour.

Dashing out of the harbourIn less than 15 minutes, the excitement is over as the last boat heads out to sea.

Last boat outTo top it off, a bright orange sunrise just moments later.
