Canada150 Motorcycle Trip-2

2017-06-25 This is Part-2 of our cross-country motorcyle trip.
This inline album covers the leg going from Calgary-AB to Hamilton (Burlington), ON.
Here again the photos on the road were by Kathy.

This leg includes overnight stops at Swift Current-SK, then Brandon-MB, followed by a very long ride day that ended in long lines of road construction coming into Dryden-ON. Due to forecasts of rain and possible thunderstorms, the next day was a long haul to Wawa, ON. The rain did catch up to us before Wawa but luckily it wasn’t too heavy.
However, for the next two days the rain was on and off, agin with warnings about thunderstorms.
So we did two short hops to Sault-St-Marie, ON one day, then Sudbury the next. Leaving Sudbury we had no rain but fog rolled in and forecasts again were for intermittent rain so the gear stayed on. In the fog and rain the all-weather gear worked great, but as we approached Toronto the sun came out and temps went from +20C to +30C as we navigated the 400-401-QEW.
In the middle of it we got off the highway to switch out of the rain gear. Good thing too as the 401 was a mad-house. Six or more lanes going 110kmh one minute, then dead stop the next, and cars passing all around like a game of hop-scotch.
Finally at the BW Burlington we unpacked and headed out to the CWH Museum near Hamilton.
More about that in the next post since it will have its own album.
